Was going to buy another Sonos Beam (already got one in daughters bedroom) but just read this ^^^ review on the new B&O Stage and really tempted to buy one of these for my bedroom to double up as a music system and tv-speaker. Anyone heard one yet?

Am just about to pull the trigger on a Beam for a new games room I have. Price and orientation work for the purpose. How have you found it??

I think for the money the Beam is ok - It's in my daughters room and she's happy with it. It sounded better in John Lewis though, and although the sales guy said there wasn't a sub attached to it I'm inclined to think there must of been. I bought it from Richer Sounds and got approx £50 off. I wanted something better for our bedroom hence why was thinking of the Stage. We have a B&O BV11 with BL9s downstairs so maybe that is what is putting me off buying another Beam and wanting to stick with B&O.Am just about to pull the trigger on a Beam for a new games room I have. Think I'll give a Beam ago - can always send it back within a couple of weeks if it doesn't suit
I'm a Bang & Olufsen Dealer, so of course, I may come across slightly biased, but, we are also a custom installation company, so we do also supply and install other brands in the Home Cinema business.
Beosound Stage is really pitched above the Sonos Beam, its natural competition is the Sonos Playbar + Sub. I have heard it against the Sonos Setup, and in all aspects, it's better, and the fact it doesn't need a Subwoofer makes it far easier to install.
Most reviews I have read really give a thumbs up, and lots give it a 'great value' note, not a bad comment for a Bang & Olufsen product.

I have Beolab 3's connected with an Essence. How would you compare the Stage as a replacement for music and TV? The Stage is not really meant to be a replacement to a pair of Active speakers like BeoLab 3’s, which as you know deliver an amazing performance for such a small loudspeaker.
Stage music performance is very impressive, but as your BeoLab 3’s have the acoustic lens, the soundstage is better, especially placed in a typical 6 to 12ft apart.
Best upgrade for you would be a BeoLab 19 Subwoofer!

I was going to put a Stage in our new bedroom, a nice neat solution that also looks good.
I had a demo of it a few weeks back at B&O Windsor.
The sound is good, very good, on a different level to the Sonos soundbar, which I hated and returned.
It is detailed and with a quite wide soundstage, but always sounds pretty warm and never tiring.
The bass is good, however, it does sound like a small driver doing bass, which of course it is, but by that I mean some of the beats have a slight hard edge to them which is fluffed up, rather than a large bassy beat. I sound like a t
t.
What I am saying is, it sounds like a small unit doing clever things to make the bass go deeper. This is actually some proper bass there, but you can't get away from the fact it is using a small driver and clever cabinet design to produce it.
The fact they have not got a sub out on it, is probably a deal breaker for me, still undecided.
This unit with a small Rel T5 or similar would be incredible, I think it is such a shame to have not put a sub out on it.
