I'm talking amazing bass and general all round experience.Just purchased a 65" Samsung Q70R

Currently have a Goodman base which is fairly decent but obviously very low tech compared to some of the new stuff out there.

My mate is a Sonos we, but he has spent a fortune. Have heard good things about JBL?

Thanks again,
Darm

Atmos maybe. Cant see me getting a whole system given the TV is in the corner and we are sitting 14-18ft away from the TV

Thanks,

I got the Samsung HW-Q90R Atmos soundbar with rear speakers and it's brilliant (although not cheap - I bought it during a Samsung promotion in October and got 50% of the price back as cashback, which was nice!).

I think when it was launched there were issues with the wireless rear speakers not connecting properly but they seem to have sorted this now and the sound quality is fantastic.

I highly recommend it if you're short on space and your budget stretches that far. Might also come down a bit in price after Xmas?

Can you return it?

John Lewis usually do good deals on higher end Samsung TVs and Soundbar combos.

I did just that in 2015 and was very happy, they work very well together functionally (only need one remote, never loses connection etc) and visually.

Will do the same again when I get my new (Samsung) TV next year if they bring out "proper" QLED

Amazing bass requires subwoofers of a decent diameter.

The Soundbase is 5 years old and has the following spec;

4.2 Channel Speaker System
Dirac HD SOUND Superb Audio Quality
Stream Music Via Bluetooth
NFC Tap & Pair
3.5mm jack in, RCA In, Digital Optical Input

Have considered the Samsung soundbars also and would prefer the shared functionality

I meant return the TV.

And then buy the same again from John Lewis, with the soundbar bundle (if they are offering one at the moment)
