Twin tuner on a 50" 4K UHD TV
Discussion
I'm trying to source a 50" 4k UHD TV with twin tuners. Mistakenly bought a Panasonic GX800 which doesn't so that's gone back but finding a twin tuner TV is proving difficult. Even all the Which? Best Buy LG TV's don't have them. My old 2014 48" Samsung has the facility so foolishly though more modern one would too - all I want to do is to able to watch another channel whilst recording a different one.
The Sony KD49XG9005BU has twin tuners:

There's 26 50" 4K TVs on the Richer Sounds website: use the specs tab to find out which ones are candidates (they do list the Panasonic as "No" for twin tuners):

Free view for that.
In which case you need to check TV spec carefully because few have twin Freeview tuners. Eg the Samsung and Sony I have each have twin FreeSAT but single FreeVIEW. Also per above I don't think there is any 4k broadcast outside of SkyQ and even that might be over Internet.
Thanks.
I’m not concerned about having ;k recordings, just the ability to record and view at the same time as I can do with my old 2014 Samsung. I find it odd that there are so few tv’s with twin tuners! Don’t people ever want to watch 2 channels but want to record one of them. If I could only have the ability to watch the channel I’m recording I may as well not record it!
Not everyone has Freesat or Sky either 😜

I think you'd have to physically go look at a few in Currys. This LG *might* have 2 Freeview tuners, but it's not entirely clear.

According to this page on the 4K models you can record to the HDD & watch another, however unless I'd seen it actually working I wouldn't rely on the functionality:

I haven't connected an HDD to my TV so I can't try it but if I can find a spare one I'll give it a go. Personally I find the UI on TVs rubbish so I just use the TV as a display device fed by a Humax recorder.

Hasn't streaming done away with the need to record anything nowadays?I’m not concerned about having ;k recordings, just the ability to record and view at the same time as I can do with my old 2014 Samsung.
