I have a number of albums in FLAC format recorded at 96/24. I have these playing on VOX.

Where I am confused is how best to stream these to Kef LSX speakers or to my hifi (Sonos connected and Google Chromecast connected).

I read that Apple Airplay can't handle 24 bit. VOX doesn't support Chromecast audio...and Sonos doesn't support high res.

How do those with FLAC files transmit wirelessly?

Roon. https://roonlabs.com/

Roon will take care of all of your files, download art and biographies for the artists, show you links between musicians, producers etc. Fantastic way to manage music.

It also plays via network, either wifi, USB or Ethernet - you just put a Roon compatible device on the network and Roon sees it and plays to it.

You probably need to read this - I noticed you have lsx. There is a solution.

Is there a solution?

I haven't looked at Roon yet and only have Spotify and VOX... VOX is primarily there as a music locker with the added benefit of playing FLAC files.

I am quite competent around hifi, but a bit lost with digital! My understanding is that even using Airplay, the 24bit recordings are down sampled to 16bit. I am wondering how to get the full sonic goodness wirelessly - I can't see how at the moment.

I don’t think there is a way to get 192/24 flac through wirelessly.
Wired Ethernet is obviously no problem.
