Does such a thing exist? Struggling to find something in the 24inch range that's both smart, has Freesat and is black. So much available for freeview but we don't have a traditional aerial just a satellite dish.

Another question, if a TV didn't have an inbuilt Freesat tuner but still has a threaded f type connector on the back will it still pick up all the channels that you get with Freesat? Albeit without the slick EPG.

It doesn't look like there are any Freesat TVs smaller than 32"

If the TV has an F type connector that would usually mean there is some sort of satellite tuner inside but you'd need to provide more details before we can guess what it does.

That LG at RS has gone up in price. I bought one in the last month or so and it was £199 from RS.

Thank you.

This one for example at RS, perfect for my needs but it's freeview and not Freesat. Has an F type it appears on the back.

We don't watch a lot of live TV but would be nice to be able to access Sat channels when not using smart catch up stuff.

Might be easier if you just buy a second hand older sky box from a local TV shop or gumtree etc for cheap then use that to get your Freeview channels without a card on your existing TV, unless it is a all in one TV that you are after.

Thanks, I do have an old sky box still. Although prefer all in one as you say so less clutter and stuff to plug in.

I don't think Humax make Freesat boxes now, although there may be second hand ones available.

Well that does seem to have a satellite receiver & the manual goes into some detail about tuning satellites in (page 21):
https://www.richersounds.com/media/pdf/PHIL-PFS_24...

If you're lucky the Freesat bouquet might appear as a "sorted channel package" but that's a wild guess. Maybe you could book in to your local Richer Sounds & ask them if you can have a play if they have one on display.

I'm not sure how useable it would be on a day-to day basis as I don't think you'd get an EPG, although you might be able to store favourite channels in the channel list - you'd have to play with it a bit.

This one. That's a receiver, and they do a recorder as well if required. Can be networked.

Now try & buy a new one.

As I said, they no longer make them but you can pick up a used one.

My 24" LG, which is about 6-7 years old, doesn't have freesat but does have a satellite receiver built in. You don't get the funky programme guide and you'll get every regional version of a channel when you tune it but you can add the ones you want to a list of favourites.

I don't know if there are any other TVs that do this.

In the end I've gone for the one I linked to above and from RS, no freesat but its full HD, smart and does have a satellite tuner, we won't watch a huge amount of satellite tv on it, probably make more use of the smart features. So happy to have a clunky epg and so on. If we tire of that there's always the option of something like this that I can add
