Effing TV wall effing bracket
Discussion
When I bought our TV a few years back (LG 55" smart UHD jobby) i bought a wall bracket with the intention of putting it up at some point, after we strip wallpaper and redecorate...
This type of thing, but not exactly the same...

2years+ later we've finally redecorated and I made a new unit to go under the TV and it was time to mount the telly box on the wall.
The bracket comes in two parts, one bit attaches to the TV, the receiving chanel on the wall. Really handily the wall bracket has an in built spirit level... lined it up, made sure the spirit level was dead centre.
Hung the TV... oh ffs, about 20mm higher at one end than the other, clearly the level wasn't square in the frame. Rummaged around in the garage and dug out my laser level...
Made sure the wall bracket was dead horizontal using my laser line... this is what the "spirit level" looked like

With the wall bracket level, the TV looked like this....

Oh ffs...
So the bracket on the wall needs to fitted on the piss, to account for the TV bracket to be incorrect to make the TV sit level...
By the time I had TV level (according to my laser level) i'd probably had the TV on and off the wall about a dozen times...
We got there in the end though...
Warning - captain hindsight to the rescue - fit all the bracketry to the TV and prop the TV exactly where you want it. Then mark off the brackets. Not the other way around!

I have fitted 100s of TVs on walls and have used just about every design of bracket from £5 pressed 'tin' to £100 + pro brackets.. The built in spirit levels are never accurate. It actually pisses me off that they are fitted as it is just more plastic produced for no good reason.
I've very rarely had brackets that are so badly manufactured the TV does not sit level, occasionally I get a bracket that has two different rails from two different designs, obviously a mistake in packing.
As above, there is usually some clearance/movement with the screws that fit to the back of TV, I always push the rail up so both rails are level. A couple of mm here can mean a wonky TV.

Is this why we're not getting any updates on your project cars? Priorities man, priorities...

Yes. Spent a lot of time recently decorating and designing/making furniture... although I have been doing work on the cars too - should probably update those threads... keep an eye out!

Agreed - it would've been much much easier for me if they hadn't bothered with the spirit level at all. Anyway, its up and level now and I'm pleased with how it all looks.
