Hi all

I have been offered one of these but has not remote. There seem to be generic ones around but I would prefer to get a hold of an original Marantz one if possible. Do any of the AV people on there know if this is possible?

For the receiver itself, any good or not? I know it's 10 years old but won't be putting 4K or anything through it. Just trying to do a home surround on a budget.

I am hoping that will play current blu-rays but anything I should be watching out for or best to not get it?

Pricewise, the chap said to make him an offer so I have no idea.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Hi - process then, namely whether the HDMI ports on the receiver, which are now 10 years old, are of a different standard that means modern blu-rays signals won't be processed properly.

Older NAD DVD players for example won't play current DVDs.

My concern is that I get errors when I hook up a blu-ray player and does not work due to needing HDMI 1.XXX or whatever.

Thanks in advance

What hifi review

https://www.whathifi.com/marantz/sr7005/review

Says it will decode DTS Master Audio so it will do bluray. no chance of it doing 4k.

I would be reluctant to buy it without a remote (or the possibility of getting a remote) as it may be difficult (or impossible) to get in to the set up menu without one.

For price - have a look on Ebay would be my suggestion

Thanks. This is my concern, and seems also that there should be a microphone to set up the system through Audyssey too but that is missing.

Gut feel is that probably too much hassle.
