Hello, i have just sold my Zeppelin as currently between homes struggling to store it and to be frank I fancy something new, it was the original version made woreless via a Bluetooth adapter.

I am wanting to get something to replace it with and am happy to spend money if it achieves a benefit.

I would like something that looks stylish as it will be placed in my kitchen.

The kitchen is roughly 6.5m x 3.5m and apologies but the speaker will likely go in one of the corners.

Currently looking at the Apple Homepod, Naim Muso 2, Naim muso qb2 and the Bowers and Wilkins Wedge.

As said I don’t mind spending money as I pretty much always have music on and my current HiFi system is Linn and B&W 800 series speakers. But I don’t want to spend £1200 on the Naim if £300 on the Homepods is money well spent.

Any advice greatly appreciated, and have a good day.

I have the Muso and it’s great. Mine is the older version 1 but can’t fault it for what it is.

Thanks for this, it does seem to get excellent reviews.

I forgot to add, the only source that will ever be used with the speaker is iphones or ipads.

I have a Devialet Gold Phantom. From a pure audiophile perspective it isn’t great in the middle range but the bass is insane, the tweeter is good and the whole thing makes me happy every time I use it (which is a lot). If there’s a dealer near you I suggest you demo one.

Edit: mine is also in the kitchen and I use Tidal on my iPhone (via the Devialet app)

I am interested in the Diavelet Phantom but have heard bad things about reliability and a lack of willingness to repair.

Are these concerns real or unfounded?

The only other issue i have with this particular speaker is that if I am going this way why not go the whole hog and get the Bang and Olufsen Beosound 2.

Muso QB or a pair of Sonos speakers with Alexa is where my money would go.

Have had no issues with mine so can’t speak to those points. Will probably buy another and the bridge when we redo our kitchen. Was previously a B&O buyer but felt the Phantom was a step beyond where they were in that market segment. Good luck with whatever you choose!

If the devialet isn’t completely blowing the budget the Linn series 3 would be worth a look at. I have one on extended home dem and don’t plan to send it back.

I had a naim Muso , swapped it for a pair of sonos play5 which in my opinion sound a lot better . Proper stereo makes a big difference. Can you get 2 speakers in ? If so Sonos , blue sound and keff all so good speakers .
A pair of play1 sound pretty good , a pair of Kef LFX sound amazing ,
So much choice in this sector now

I don’t think i can get a pair of speakers in due to positioning of other things (house is currently being built so can’t be sure though). I do like the kef’s as a friend has them as was thinking of these for the dining room maybe.

It’s one of those things where the budget will stretch to the Phantoms but that would mean less to be spent in other areas whereas something like the muso especially the qb would allow me to get the kitchen clock i like.

Would the muso qb happily fill a 6.5 x 3.5m room? I don’t want crazy volumes but i do want a nice unstrained sound throughout the room with it tucked in at one end.

I have had a Teenage engineering OD11 in our kitchen family room for the last 3 years - its been absolutely fab, easily fills the room with a natural sound.

I was going to get a muso QB, but i much prefer the crisp, classic scandi look.

To each their own but looks wise i think the Muso QB looks far nicer.

Current thinking is Naim Muso QB 2 for the kitchen and Naim Muso 2 as a soundbar/music player in the family room.

Will trial all those mentioned apart from the teenage engineering as sorry I just don’t like the looks, and go from there as am concerned about the QB being a littls on the small side for the room.

Muso QB 2 pushes out serious sound and can fill a substantial space. Worry not.

if you test a devialet phantom, be prepared to have your breath taken away - not sure I liked its sound but it gets your attention when cranked up - it is stunning funny looking dude though

personally I just wanted something to stick in the corner, be unobtrusive and just produce sound without drama - the OD11 delivers in spades, wouldnt suit everyone thoughbeer

I’ve been really happy with the Dynaudio Music 3, and the 5 would suit your room.
