Surround sound or soundbar- £300ish
Discussion
I have a Panasonic 5.1 system which has been real good, decent sound off it, it’s suddenly given up the ghost the where it turns on and then instantly off all the time.
So I’m not sure whether to get a wireless surround sound system which is probably my number one choice or whether a good sound bar would give out decent sound, tv would be used for music too so needs to be good.
Ideally I don’t really want to spend any more than £300 though, any recommendations out there?

Where?? Most places retail it at £399 and the cheapest I can find from a known retailer is £379??
Sorry - you're right. I did buy one for £299 on Black Friday but £399 is the regular pice. Anyway...it's worth the extra £100
FWIW I just got the Yamaha YAS-209. They're doing a 15pct cashback promotion at the moment so it works out at about 300gbp.
Impressed so far. Very easy to set up, controlled by the TV remote, separate wireless subwoofer can be hidden away somewhere, it has WiFi and Bluetooth, can handle streaming music services, and has Alexa.

I almost went sonos beam when I had exactly this question, decided against it as I had a 4 year old play 3 which was almost useless due to so many updates, I didn’t want the same thing to happen.
I went to John Lewis and tested a few out VS the beam and knew it needed HDMI and be around £300
You can really tell the difference between a all in one and one with a sub and with Dolby almos and not
I decided on this in the end, which I got in the sale for £250 in the bed
