Hi all, I suddenly have an urge to be locked down with myself and family with a bit of a sing song karaoke machine.

I've probably got 24hrs to order something from Amazon to arrive before the big day. Any suggestions? I think I'd be happy like to show words on TV or tablet, can run through hi fi speakers or self contained. And where do you get the songs from nowadays Cd or download?

Thanks All!!

But it was only £99 in Costco (including Vat!)

If you want to do it the right way...

We have Karaoke at home, it's done via a computer with VirtualDJ.

You can get a subscription from them for Karaoke songs https://www.virtualdj.com/products/onlinecatalogs....
Or you can play CD+G CD's. I have purchased a number of favourite songs from Sunfly and store the individual files on the hard drive. VirtualDJ has a great search facility.

However, you need a few other bits to get this setup to work well. A Karaoke Microphone mixer, so that you can plug the microphones in. This also gives you echo, which you will want! (You don't need one with loads of knobs and buttons, a basic one will be fine).

Lastly, your hifi amp (Mine is a Yamaha), needs to be able to play sound from AV (RCA) and the picture from HDMI. Most can do this, but you should check it.

Hope that helps.

Went for a Roxi in the end, it was reduced to £99 on their website with delivery by tomorrow whi9ch seemed like a good deal.

I like this one as it has 1 yrs subscription to a lot of material in the price. I wasn't too excited about getting hold of cds or having to download the songs I wanted. It comes with a wireless mic so the unit can plug into the screen and amp.

Lets hope it turns up in time for Xmas and lockdown now!

We had a roxy, they are ok, but limited on how many songs you have. Also the subscription can get pricey over time and the machine we had would only work if you subscribed.

Can recommend this if on a budget, it has a bigger brother and also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker.
