Wii not detected on Sony StrDN1080 AV receiver

Hi folks,

Have been given a working Nintendo Wii and I'm struggling to get it to work on my Sony AV receiver.

I've plugged it into the composite video on the amp, but I'm getting a blank screen on the TV.

Have set input for that channel to analog.

Any ideas?

Is it composite or Y/C? What colour are the phono connectors

Yellow, white and red

I just RTFM and it seems it only supports output of this format via Composite not hdmi. Pointless then!

If you mean the AV amp then I guess it's not an A/D converter. Does your TV have composite in?

Yes the amp. No composite on TV.

And the monitor / composite out on amp isn't working either. Have connected Wii to projector using composite and it works, but the output on amp isn't working
