Alexa and Sony tv

Hi, I have a brand new Sony af9 TV and I want to set up Alexa with it. It all goes through fine, connects account and all that good stuff but when it goes to “discover my devices” it doesn’t find the tv.
Anyone any ideas, I’ve done all of the usual things.
Any help is gratefully received as it’s driving me mad!

Don't do it.

I went through all of that, then after a few weeks it stopped working and I lost the will to live.

Every time there's an android tv update it stops working too

Got my AG9 (assume similar to yours) working fine with Google home. Shows up in the app and responds to voice commands.

Only problems I had in the past were to do with the wifi connection. TV seemed to need a much stronger/consistent signal than the Virgin box underneath or anything else for that matter. Pushed me into getting a mesh setup and its behaved perfectly since then.
