New living room is large - and will be sat quite a way from the screen.
I think my 42inch will just seem lost.
Looking for something 60-65 inches.
It has been a good few years since I last bought a TV. ( Richer Sounds. )
Looking at their website - plenty of options......All with 5 star reviews - and very wide price range. £600 up to silly money.
Most of the content will be Netflix, Amazon or Disney+
Is it worth spending £1300 on QLED or £1800 on OLED?

Went from a 10yo 37" Panasonic plasma to a Sony Bravia KD48A9 OLED HDR 4K Ultra HD recently. Panasonic is a heavy beast but lovely image and still works great but lacking on all the smart TV stuff. I've never been tempted by the LED/LCD tv's as the picture quality always looked poor compared to the plasma but have to say the Sony has a spectacular image, obviously much higher resolution and all the current bells and whistles of a new top of the range set. We'd got no interest in a mega-size screen of 55"+, even in a largish room it would dominate way more than we'd want it to, but the Sony was only fractionally larger than the Panasonic as it is practically an edge to edge picture.
It wasn't cheap at £1500 or thereabouts but following the "buy infrequently but buy the best" mentality we're pretty happy.

My parents have a 65" qled.. I have a 65" oled... Both are amazing but the blacks are just that much better on the OLED.. However.. I saw the QLED first and was blown away tbh...
Im sure there are some real panel technical experts out there.. But for the normal person.. Both will suffice..
However, I prefer lg's webos by far. Let's me stream off the qnap natively..

At that distant you won't be able to tell the difference between 720p and 4k with a 200" screen, let alone LCD/LED/QLED/OLED etc on a 65" screen.
Agree - Which? recommendation for a 65" screen is a minimum 2.5m (HD) or 2.1m (4k)We sit circa 2.5-3m from our screens - the family room has a 48" OLED LG CX, because that's what the wall space allows as it's open plan to the kitchen. Works fine for 4k content. The lounge has our older 55" plasma and that's OK. If I was replacing it now and getting another 4k screen I'd go up to a 65".
If you really are going to sit 7.5m+ from the screen, you might want a projector!
She who must be obeyed won't go for a projector.... but you never know worth a punt...
The problem with moving the sofa closer - is that it is an electric recliner - so I'm tethered to a wall socket
She is looking at it from the aspect of the current TV looks silly in such a big space.

Into silly money and almost went for it myself, great write up all round but for the sound especially https://www.richersounds.com/tv-projectors/all-tvs...
I think this has actually gone up in price recently, pretty sure it was £2200 last time I looked

Can you provide power for the sofa through a socket in the floor, under the sofa? Shouldn't be hard to do if it's a suspended floor. Failing that, so long as it's against a wall somewhere it ought to be possible to hide the vast majority of a cable run along a skirting board so it's barely noticeable.£1900 buys you the 65" LG CX OLED. Sony and Panasonic OLEDs use LG screens, but with their own interface, so the differences are marginal in picture quality terms. There's also a 77" version but the price goes silly (around £3400)

To be fair - so do I.
