Question, when you plug it into your phone via USB and play different quality music, does the bit rate colour indicator change?

Playing it through my p30 pro it's only ever green (96khz) regardless of source - amazon HD so a mix of normal, HD, and ultra HD.

On my wife's s21 ultra it shows blue (176khz) regardless of source.

If I plug it into my pc and set the sound ouptut to a specific bitrate the colour reflects the setting.

I'm trying to work out whether I'm doing something wrong with the phone.

Hi,

Andriod phones are known to upsample the audio to 96khz. That's why you're seeing only one colour no matter what the original frequency is

Also, Amazon HD is also not bit perfect. S

There is an app you can get, I think its called USB audio Pro? May have cost me £5??

You can run spoitfy/tidal through it and it bypasses the phones dac. I used it with tidal. The interface was not as good, but the sound quality difference noticeable.
