Best external speakers to use with Sonos Amp?
Discussion
Hi all,
We're pretty embedded in the Sonos way and we like the product.
What are the best external speakers to pair with a Sonos Amp? We have a large garden and I'd like to run some speaker wire and position some permanent external speakers (the Sonos external speakers are a tad pricey!).
Any help greatly received!
Thanks,
Rossco

White Klipsch CP-6 on offer here, I've been having a look today "https://premiumsound.co.uk/product/speakers/outdoor/klipsch-cp-6-indooroutdoor-pair/".
Edited to add, select white in the drop down!
Would pair with the Sonos Amp fine, speakers are 75W at 8 ohm Sonos Amp is 125W per channel at 8 ohm. The old Sonos amp was a bit limp at 55W pc, but a new one should be more than enough for even the KEF Ventura 6.

We often just pair a sonos amp to 1 or 2 pairs of externals.
But depending on the coverage you need you may want a different approach.
For mid to big areas, you could use an array system with 6 or 8 little satellite speakers and a mushrokm looking sub you bury into the ground. This gives better coverage without needing to over power an area just to hear it further down the garden.

I have a pair of Monitor Audio CL 50's on my roof terrace powered by an old 55 W/Ch at 8 ohms Sonos Connect Amp. It works well and goes easily loud enough for us but the the speakers ask a lot of the amp in terms of power. A newer 125 W/Ch at 8 ohms Sonos Amp would be better in a bigger garden rather than a small terrace. They have been out in the weather for seven years and are not showing any signs of wear or anything yet. I'd probably go up a size to the CL 60's for slightly better low frequency response if I was going to do it again.
