New Tv required, not huge....

Having moved to a bigger gaff,our old Panny with
Approx 31” viewing seems a tad distant .

Always liked the picture quality on it,but well aware it’s
Old tech now...

I’m well out of the loop as to what’s hot or not now.

Quick play with the tape seems to suggest something
Around the 40 inch area....

Recommendations please guys....

43” is generally the standard of that ‘ish’ size now.
£329-£379 for Samsung in their ‘pretty decent’ range. The big boy is the Q60, which comes in around £600, but there should be Easter deals in a minute which will get you to £500ish. We have last years Q60 and it does still struggle with dark scenes!

It’s a little bit blue peter, but make up a cardboard template, with a few sizes on it, and cut it down as required. I’ve just done this for a TV in garden office/man space.

I’ve used that technique when we went from a 36” CRT to a 50” Plasma over a decade ago. At the time the missus thought the tv was enormous, that only lasted a few weeks. In a room in the extension we have a 65”, and she now mentions the 50” looks tiny in the winter lounge.

I have a 43 inch Samsung frame tv . Have it on all day in ambient mode when I’m working from home . Absolutely love it

Looked at the 43's and became concerned it *might* just be a tad small.....

Checked out the 50's and have ordered this for Saturday....

Seems to be a bit of a bargain to me.

A big change from the older sets to newer gear is the size of the bezel. With old sets the frame surround was thick and that made even modest sized TVs look large. New sets have a thin surround. New 43" wouldn't take up much more space than old 32" despite the screen size increase. The step up to 50" for the larger room space makes sense then.

Hah! Another convert from "I just want the same size as last time" to "I wonder what weight the mount fixings will take?"

I suspect you'll be very glad you upsized & in a week you'll admit a 55" might have been a good idea.
