Thoughts on this OLED TV - plus what sound bar?

I'm going to get a 55" TV and wall mount it. The one below looks good to me. It's a Panasonic TX-55HZ1000B (2020) OLED HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV. It is top of our budget at £1300.

What we watch

Mainly Netflix
General TV
Some films but not that often
Boxsets
I love sport but don't have Sky so have to rely only on the odd occasion that it's on normal TV
We have rubbish broadband so nothing will be ULTRA HD, just normal 1080p


Soundbar

I know nothing about these, but some things I have read say that the audio comes out so much clearer than the TV speakers. I am willing to spend around £300 on one... £400 at absolute most.

The Sonos Beam fits into this category at £379.

Is there anything I should consider when making these choices? I'm just beginning research but want to buy in about 3-4 weeks time

This could be the answer https://www.richersounds.com/lg-oled55cx5lb.html As the sound is pretty good without a soundbar. I recently bought it’s smaller 48” sibling and expected to need a sound bar but it did a pretty good job or rendering Dolby Atmos from the actual TV.

Very highly rated Oled for movie watching from last year it's just 2 models below Panasonic's Flagships with the built in Technics Atmos speakers.
The new JZ Series are about to be launched so guess the reason for the price drops.

I love my 55" OLED, and we have an LG sound bar which pairs up well and all can be controlled from the same box. The sound bar comes on and pairs instantly with the TV. No hassle. I looked at the Sonos but I am not sure if you can control it from the same handset.

I used to review monitors for a living so super fussy about TV's. Love my OLD TV and when you see high dynamic colours (of any brand) in 4k I am blown away every time.
Down side is in a bright room and dark TV or film the image can be hard to see. Up side is having a fully black screen gives such a deep image. After 4 years sill makes me happy.

I've looked into this and can't see anything conclusive on it.

I am definitely set on the TV, just not sure on the sound bar yet

Using an Orbitsound Bar A70 here. £399 direct from Orbitsound. Very happy with it.

I could be wrong, not being a technophobe, but it seems to be controlled by your mobile phone.

If you want the absolute best for your budget then this TV would be the choice:

LG OLED 55CX5LB (£1,119.99)

Soundbar would be this:

LG SL8YG (£329.99)

Can't go wrong with both of those in my opinion.

OLED is definitely the best choice.

Plenty of years of great TV watching ahead!

Check what burn-in warranties are offered on those OLEDs.

I appreciate the industry talk of massive improvements in anti burn-in technology over the past couple of years but, as someone who's just had a warranty claim rejected on a 2.5 year old Panasonic OLED, I shan't be revisiting those screens any time soon.

A special mention really must go to Good Morning Britain - it seems an hour a day with their little logo in the bottom left hand corner of the screen is enough to destroy a £1,700 TV. Cheers Kate, Suze et al.

Well, while I like OLED too, the first 55" screwed the motherboard after five years. £1,200 for a new one.
