I'm experiencing ongoing problems with my Sky Q box.
It often will not let me switch it on and the fan is running a lot. It's not in a hot place. It's well ventilated and lives where the old Sky box lived for 10 years of untroubled service. I have to switch the power off for a few minutes and then reboot.
I've been through three Q boxes in 6 months. The last engineer switched the ECO mode off and told me that it would solve most problems, but that the fan would run and yes it was very nosey and yes it happens all the time and no there was not much I could do. Unfortunately the problems remain and I couldn't turn it on yesterday without the power off reboot.
Has anyone else experienced these problems?
I like the Sky package and wondered if there is another way to receive the service, as their boxes are clearly rubbish. Is it possible to use a different receiving system?

Are you using a mesh WiFi system by any chance?
I've had exactly the same symptoms since I installed a TP-Link mesh. Resolved by excluding the SkyQ and Mini boxes from the mesh system WiFi, and only connecting to the Router's WiFi. Alternative is to hardwire using Ethernet.
