I’ll be moving house shortly, and will need to run surround sound speaker cable under the carpet, any recommendations for cable?

This stuff.

Used it on my hifi for years - decent price, does the job and lies flat.

Like a girl I used to know in Portsmouth.

There's plenty of choice on Amazon - like this cable

Don't use the Linn cable mentioned above - it's quite inductive and designed to work with Linn amps (same goes for the Naim stuff).

I've used Taperwire for the last 15yrs or so.

http://www.taperwire.com/

Not sure how easy it is to get here now, but it's as flat as you can get and works fine for my surround speakers smile

Some of the suggestions above are not really very flat
This seems to be a good compromise of price and flatness.

Preparation is the key
Get it if the roll and flatten it at least 24 hours in advance
Lay it out where you need it - behind skirting if you can
Then tape it down flat inch by inch with a continuous piece of gaffa tape
(and for gods sake label each end)

Given you have to go around the edges anyway, I’d just use QED Micro. Tape down just inside the gripper rod and trim a slot where it needs to exit.

I’d never recommend flat cables, as they can’t go around a corner, without folding over, which rather defeats the object and can damage the cable.
