This is driving me to distraction now...have Netflix, Prime and Disney+

The first two stream seamlessly (I live zone 3 London with something like 60mbps internet speed) but Disney+ is a glitching nightmare. Anything on it just stutters along every 10 seconds or so it stutters lose sound and picture jolts. I have an LG 43" PLA TV just two years old. I have tried:

Restarting the app and TV including complete power down
Updating firmware on TV and for the app
Restarting my router
Pausing and waiting for a few minutes whilst watching to see if it buffers ahead but doesnt do anything.
Stopping the programme, leaving the app running for 10 mins, then starting it again

I really cannot understand why this app is so crap whilst Netflix and Prime jog along fine no problem. I dont want wires running across the room from the router (which has a clear space between it and the TV of about 5 metres).

Any ideas?

Actually, found a setting in the app that changes it from automatic picture quality and set it down to HD and it now streams fine. Annoying as I have 4k Netflix which is absolutely fine.

  • kicks back and starts Black Widow

Can you temporarily run an Ethernet cable from the router to the TV and, if so, does it work fine? Might help to diagnose the issue.

Aye good shout. It probably would solve it given that reducing the resolution fixed the problem.

Glad you got it sorted. I need Disney + but just for a few days at the end of November to watch The Beatles Get back three parter - not sure whats the best way to get it for such a short period. I have basic Sky/Smart TV and a wi-fi router.

Maybe they have a free week offer still? They did when I got it, free for a week then something like £8 a month now. You should be able to put the app on your smart tv or just watch it on your laptop (I have the browser app on my chromebook too)

Got it sorted - no free week but paid £7.99 for a month and then cancelled it to prevent further billing.

Just to say Disney also glitches for us on both our LG tvs, a backlit LCD and a new C1 OLED.
