Better TV sound

We frequently use hotels etc and find the sound of the TV's VERY QUIET Maybe it's our age but is there an easy way of increasing the volume by plugging some sort of gizmo into the earphone socket on TV?
I have a soundbar but the sound from it is tinny to say the least Plus it's too big to be portable.
What else can I try?
At home I use a Vintage pioneer A400 amp and a pair of JBL L20T speakers which does the job perfectly

I work away and have used a Bluetooth travel soaker that can attach to the jack plug. I've used various ones over the years, but they can improve a rubbish TV speaker.

It's even easier than plugging in a speaker, Google "remove hospitality mode from TV"
It's a matter of a very short buttons press on the remote and you'll be able to turn your telly up.
I always do it in Premier Inns.

Thanks for suggestions - I have 3 bluetooth speakers which work ok using a mobile but none of them have an AUDIO in socket suitable for plugging into the TV????
I've tried altering the hotel TV settings but after doing so they still sound too quiet. at home we have 50 & 65" TV's [samsung & pansonic] which both have Krap volume ie. very little at all, so I think in general todays TV's being so thin have Poxy weedy U/S speakers - hence no volume?
Surely there must be a simple solution to this?

The Sony solution works pretty well. On some models they actually use the screen as the loudspeaker. Sounds like a dreadful idea but really works far better than you might expect. I saw one review which said you would have to pay a lot for a soundbar to match it. Don't get me wrong it's no substitute for a hifi system - but I'm sure many people will be perfectly ok with it.

My wife has just suggested using an old pair of PC gaming speakers which have the correct plug, will try them next time
Now why didn't I think of that
