Richer Sounds just called me to tell me that my Sony KV55DX9305 is beyond economic repair (which suprised me, as I thought it was just the power board which Sony have an extended repair on) but there you go. So as my TV is 5.5 years old, they have offered me £699 towards a new one.

This is a family room TV, we have a SONOS sound bar in there so sound not an issue, and it will be on a stand. I would like Dolby Vision / HDR 10 as we sometimes stream that film format.

Any particular yes or no sets from these?

If I base it on RS reviews, the LG or Panasonic appear the 'best'. rtings seems to have the LG as best.

Thanks,

Charles

Went for the Sony KD55X89JU in the end as the local branch called me and that was the easiest option!

The LG was only available in limited stores on a stock run out, so wasn't an option in the end anyway.

We just got the LG OLED55A16LA delivered last week, £699 and it's awesome.
Richer Sounds were out of stock locally and would not ship but Askdirect deliver FOC.

Have Sony given up on Android OS yet?

The set I had was Android, this one (which is a 2021 set I think) is Google TV.
