They're all rubbish IMO. My 82 year old mum gets on fine with a separate BT Youview box though. One remote control, easy and logical recording menu...they 'just work' without all the confusing bells and whistles you don't need.

I’ve always found the native Samsung smart system very simple and intuitive to use especially with the flashy small metal remote, minimal buttons/controls

Just use a firestick plugged in to the tv. Cheap and very easy to use. If they can’t work that out there is no hope for them.

The Samsung system is extremely easy imo.

Another vote for Samsung. Miles ahead of the laggy, buggy Android OS on Sony screens. One odd glitch ours has is that something causes it to retune from Freesat to generic satellite quite regularly. We don’t watch any live TV most of the time so no great shakes but might be annoying if you mostly watch Freesat.

I like the Samsung also
Wasn’t so impressed by the channel list being spammed by ads for a channel ove never heard of though. Managed to kill such nonsense, hidden in the settings

I got a Panasonic for my old mum because the remote had big buttons and 'standard ' layout.

Do they want smart features? Or just basic Freeview?

Our elderly relative had panasonics.

A) She was used to them
B) We tended to double up on stuff, if they had the same as us it was easier to talk them through problems remotely.

Another for Panasonic

Not found anything remotely close to their OS, last week I was using an L.G. in a hotel room with some mouse remote thingy, dreadful!

Panasonic all the way!

I would get the same as you have. I did this with my mum and when she has a problem I can step here through the remote whilst I use mine. I have solved problems 5 or 6 times this way through have stopped me having to do an hour round trip.
