Black Friday TV Deals & Options?

Anyone anticipating decent discounts on LG TVs next week? Above and beyond what is already being advertised since apparently BF is a month long event now.
We’re in the market for a 55/65 panel for what will mainly be a movie room so have been looking to see how far the budget will stretch. At the minute the budget is probably going to dictate either a smaller OLED or a larger LED and there are some discounts already but I’m wondering if it’s worth holding out?
(And whether the a smaller OLED panel is really worth double the bigger LED one!!)

Richer sounds have already started their BF event, picked up a 55" LG OLED for £1299 (only reduced by £100) but treasure their 6 year guarantee after previous issues with other retailers/brands.
You can get the same TV from Argos for the same price, but with a £125 egift card, however you only get the standard 1 year guarantee. It was a tough choice for me as the gift card would have come in really handy, but after being burnt in the past with guarantees decided to go for the 6 year one. YMMV

Yes Richer Sounds would be my first port of call too and I’ve been keeping an eye on reductions. I’m just wondering there’s likely to be any more.
Most likely choices are a 65” 9100 LED panel for £700 or a smaller, older 55” G2 OLED for £1200 or a new larger 65” B3 OLED for £1400. Size or quality?
I don’t want I buy the cheaper panel only to find the more expensive OLED was later reduced in price…

AAAAAAH -timely thread.
I really want to purchase from John Lewis & add on their Protect Plus for peace of mind but can't help but think that their pricing won't be as keen as say Richer Sounds this year.
I think I am looking at an LG C3 65" - would love a G3 but as I wouldn't be wall mounting seems a bit excessive for my first foray in to OLED ownership.
I can pick up a 65" C3 direct from LG using a 20% off voucher for £1332 but the warranty situation isn't crystal clear plus no burn-in or accidental damage cover as an option.
Hmmm decisions decisions . . .

They do. But I’d rather not decide to limit myself to the 65 LED because the budget won’t stretch to OLED only to then see the OLED later reduced to a price I can actually afford
I just can’t decide if the OLED is really worth all that extra cost and having to sacrifice screen size.

FWIW, all the usual online TV retailers offered to refund any like for like BF price reduction if I bought prior to the sale.
I bought from RS for the 6 year deal and as it turned out, no one offered the same model cheaper during the sale. Or since in fact.
If you are after a specific model, I doubt there is any benefit to buying during BF, as all the retailers match each other's prices. There was very little price difference across retailers. If you aren't bothered what you get and just want a deal, you may find something suitable during BF if you have time to monitor all the offers.

Also consider this that also has 4 * HDMI 2.1 120Hz albeit the panel is from C1 generation . . .
G2 would be a good choice especially wall mounted.

I did actually know that. Sadly the reason is even more ridiculous, my better half would like the same remote and operating system!
I’m very tempted to fork out for the 65 OLED, either the B3 or G2 and suck up the bigger cost for long term enjoyment.

Very. Had the TV for 1299 with a 20% discount if you took the pay in 12 months option. That made the TV £1,039. Wait for the for the credit to be applied and pay the balance off interest free.
I am glad I purchased it before Black Friday because Very, now have the same TV in the Black Friday sale for £1699??? The same price as the upgraded G3 model.
If you search today 18/11/23 you cant get the C3 cheaper than £1299. Its a Farce and I actually got a good bloody deal.

Yeah Curry’s and Richer sounds are the two local options. I did look at a few models in both shops a while back and if I’m 100% honest I couldn’t see huge differences between LED and OLED. But since then it’s occurred to me that that was in a brightly light shop and that a darkened viewing room (like it’ll be in at home) might be a different kettle of fish for OLED to really shine They tend to have branded manufacturer booths and the demos were actually quite decent when I went.
The OLED was a no-brainer and absolutely zero regrets.
It's mind-blowing.
