Hey folks, looking to get some feedback from the PH massive on a new setup. I am in a fortunate position with our house remodel to have a whole room to use as a purpose built cinema room. I have a good idea of the 5.1.2 setup I want to use in the cinema room but getting a bit lost on setting up the music streaming for other rooms.

Other than running the speakers and projector in the cinema room I also want to drive 2 sets of speakers elsewhere in the house but I don't really know how to do this (using Apple Music as the source). I currently have pre-wired for ceiling speakers in the kitchen which drop to where the AV receiver will be installed, in addition I would like to run a set of outdoor speakers but they will need to be driven over wifi as hardwiring will be an issue. The plan would be to synch between these 2 rooms, I don't need to drive the speakers in the cinema room at the same time.

I don't have an unlimited budget and I was looking at the £1000 mark for the AV receiver and speakers. I am not sure if looking to find an all-in-one solution with the AV receiver is a bad idea, but not I was hoping this may be the most cost effective option. Any thoughts welcome

Denon is my choice, I went second hand to get the features I wanted.
Typically they come capable of Zone 2 and Zone 3 outputs, which could give you what you wish for.
The wireless part to the outdoor is possible, but you'd need a HEOS speaker or amp, neither particularly cheap (even second hand) last time I looked. Wired would be cheaper, but comes with its own challenges...

I have been looking at Denon as my AV receiver choice, looks like some come with Heos built in which is good.

I have a Denon. It depends 7.1, or 5.1 and a Zone 2. Heos built in and can be controlled with Alexa. Only thing is no integration with Apple Music which we use as our streamer of choice.

I only use the 7.1 bought some Dolby Atmos overhead speakers that sit on the fronts and point at the ceiling to bounce the sound off it.

I use an Apple TV with my receiver to give me Apple Music on the Home Theatre, then an additional Apple AirPort Express in each room connected to amp/ powered speakers that I also want music in. You can name the AirPort Express to much the location, have multi room audio or separate streams to each location, all managed through any Apple device on the WiFi network.
