LG - Standby Issue
Discussion
I have an LG C1 65" OLED screen which I got around 3 and a bit years ago. After putting it on Standby at night time, I'd often return to there being no little red light, non-responsive to the remote etc so required me to switch the power off at the wall, leave it for a few minutes, power it back up and hit the standby button and would power up ok.
From looking online, it seems that this a very common issue with LG screens of this era. I called a local TV repair person and they said the TV probably needs to be chucked as LG are notorious for not carrying spares, so while a simple enough fix to replace the power board, the parts are probably not available, stuff on ebay is rubbish and when you can get LG to respond, they have been known to quote more than what the TV cost new in the first place.
Has anyone successfully fixed this issue outside of warranty? It seems a waste to chuck it away so happy to invest some time and effort before resorting to the bin!! Thanks

Thank you, that's really good to know. I did buy it from JL but the wording on the receipt hinted at the fact the 5 year guarantee was at additional cost and sounded like I was therefore excluded from that service. I just Googled it and you're absolutely right, it clearly says that all TV's come with a 5 year guarantee as standard. Next move, pop in to JL and organise a repair!! Thank you!!
