LG OLED - Image Retention / Burn in but only on some inputs?
Discussion
Evening all,
Wracking my brains a touch here.
Got an LG OLED55b6v and recently noticed that there is some image retention and marking on the panel from the usual sources - marks from media players where it would appear the screen has been paused for significant periods of time. This may or may not have been from falling asleep in front of the tv whilst either on pause or whatever but lets gloss over that...
However, tonight i'm watching Netflix through Sky Q and the marks have disappeared. Literally nothing. Put it on Sky, image retention is there.
Before i go out and spend a grand plus on a new TV, anyone have any ideas as to why this is?
Thanks for any and all replies in advance.

Done 3 or 4 "clear panel noise" processes but made no difference.
I think whats confusing me most is that watching Netflix on app is perfect pic, no issues but put it on Sky to watch say football and the image retention is there on the bottom of the screen.
Can't make sense of this
Edited to add that this OLED was an early one and doesn't have screen saver / pixel cleaning / refresher

At a guess (I'm no expert) it's colour dependent.
I have an OLED that has burn in from games I play (it's a few years old now) - they only show up when that part of the screen is red, not any other colour.
No idea how to repair it, so I just ignore it (some of the ones I have which are no longer relative are starting to fade).

I have the same TV with pronounce screen burn on the mute icon on the right hand side. It was only noticeable on reds but it was enough to annoy me. It happened after only a couple of years. Its definitely a thing although people seem convinced it isnt. I have the new G5 which is supposed to cover screen burn under warranty, but then it doesn't have a persistent mute icon.
It's a bit of a strange one. Present on greens, reds, yellows, whites. Present on Sky Q, not on Netflix app on Sky Q.
I do have some icon burn in on the bottom of the screen, seemingly from Amazon firestick controls.
Main issue is if you imagine someone threw paint at the screen, washed it off but the perimeter of the stain was still there, that's the image "damage".
Can't see there being a way to repair this other than a new TV to be honest.

My 55" curved screen LG OLED has just blown up. My fault using a damp cloth to wipe the screen when it was on! I've had it 10yrs not a hint of screen burn and went to get it fixed but fault within the screen. I toyed with the G5 and the C5 in 65" and can't see much in it other than the £800 price difference. As I don't do gaming I've gone for the C5 - hard to get hold of stock in several places but a local Hi-Fi shop has ordered me one for less than Richer Sounds price. Can't wait given I'm now watching stuff on a 28" LED Sony with a processor speed of a Commodore 64
