I have some speakers I'd like to use with the TV, but don't need/want a whole AV receiver set up. Can anyone recommend something?

Lots of options ... just depends how many speakers you're powering?

No HDMI arc on any of those. I'd go with something like a Bluesound amp, the Powernode is only 2 ch, 40w pc but has arc plus streaming so can be used for TV audio as well as music via Airplay or Bluetooth.

Audiolab 6000a mk2 and 7000a have hdmi ARC input, I think some of the WiiM amps do too if you prefer a smaller less traditional amp.

SMSL PS100 + FOSI V3 stereo amp

edit, the V3 also has a pre-out if you want to hook up an active subwoofer at any time if your speakers can't get low enough for a full range of sound.

Also connect HDMI to the PS100 then RCAs to the V3, keep the run from PS100 to V3 or to sub on the rcas as short as possible to retain signal quality.
