Question re freeview

A quick basic question, if I get a freeview box for my tv does the normal areial plug into it or does it do away with the need for the normal areial?

The aerial plugs into the Freeview box and you then plug the output from the freeview into the aerial in on the TV.... As a rule I'd say.
