Evening all....

Just watching the Boro game on 'HD' - channel 408. Thing is, i really can't tell the difference between the standard, non-HD picture on 401.

How do i check for sure if i'm actually watching HD? Pretty disappointed with the quality to be honest...

Cheers
RS

Are you using an HDMI connection?
Is the Skybox set to 1080i (or Auto)?

Anyway, you complain about quality while watching Boro. There, that should move this to Sports smile

If it looks the same then it isnt wink

Few things to check,

Not all programs on the HD channels are in HD, press i, does it say HD at the top of the banner.

Do you have an HD TV?

Is there an HDMI lead connecting the two together?

Have you selected the HDMI input on your TV?

You would be suprised how many sky setups i have come across where HD boxes are set up with a scart lead as well as an HDMI and people are using AV1 instead of HDMI1, i even had one last week where sky HD was tuned into no6!!!

st. I've been watching it on AV1 instead of HDMI1 for the past sodding 3 months (since I've had HD installed). Honestly I was about to cancel my subscription because I just couldn't notice the difference.

I am a fking muppet.

Only bad thing is that it's still the 'boro on TV. Sadly for me, i'm waiting for the toon army tomorrow frown

Thanks
RS

This seems to be the generic forum now for anything AV related.

Why did you get any kind of picture on AV1? This suggests you also have a scart connected? Why?

As well as showing the OP to be a bit of a cock it also shows the standard of the Sky Installer, why the hell didn't he set up the OP's system to run in HD and give the OP a demo.

I see quite alot of it, its the usual too many jobs to do, not enough money and consequently well you know what you get if you pay peanuts wink

There are alot of sky guys out there that know what they are doing but there seems to be more that dont.
