Virgin have just increased their prices again and realising that it's all a load of crap anyway I'd like to get rid and get an all in one type system as above. Is there such a thing?

Not that ive come across, you will need 2 boxes to do that, a Freeview PVR and a home cinima kit.
If you use the right remote combo then you can get seperate systems to work nearly as if they are one, for instance I have a Standard sky box (no subscription) and a home cinima kit, i use a sky+ r/c and reprogrammed it to operate the standard sky box and the home cinima for volume so I have 1 r/c working TV,Cin kit and sky box.
Ive got cable coming in a few weeks so I guess ill have to work on another solution for myself then as I know that their remotes are not as flexable as sky's.

I'm sure this will be expensive when it goes on sale!

This is the route I have taken!

Samsung box(SAMSUNG DVD-SH897M/XEU) with built in:

Freeview
320GB harddrive with PVR
DVD recorder

So I can watch freeview and record it to DVD or to the hard drive.

To be fair it works better with a TV which has Freeview, you can then watch and record two different channels.

I purchased the following at the same time to complete the whole package:

LG 42LH5000 TV
Onkyo 5.1 amp
Onkyo sub and speakers

All in all very happy......with a total cost of around £1350ish, this Christmas.

Personally I'd be looking to get a Freeview HD recorder when they come out later this year, assuming they don't cost silly money.
