Thinking of putting a tv in the kitchen and looking for a good indoor aerial.

The ones that I have seen in the past don't fill me with expectations of a good reception.

Anyone got any recommendations?

It really depends on signal strength where you live and if you want freeview.

Very strong signal - anything
Very weak signal - forget it

On my freeview box it normally shows a strength of 85 or so percent---is that a strong signal or a normal one ?

If thats from a roof mounted aerial then its quite weak, if it a set top aerial then its quite good. To be honest the only way your gunna know if it works is to buy one and see, if it dosent then take it back. I know my local comet stopped selling them for that very reason.

IMO indoor aerials are a waste of time for digital. Even if you live in a strong signal area and get a good picture most of the time, you'll soon get fed up with the picture breaking up every time a car goes past your house or even if someone walks in front of it.
If you don't want to pay too much money, you're better off splitting the feed from an existing outdoor aerial or installing one of these: http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/best_aerial.htm#shor... in your attic. That site sells a complete DIY kit for £50, which is not that much more than an amplified indoor aerial.

Oh yes, jbudgie, what's your postcode? I can do a reception check for your area if you like.
