Freeview - Upscaling

Currently running a Humax 9200. Picture was fine on CRT, now got 40" Sony HD.
Would a newer upscaling jobby really be any better?

Nope, wont make any difference, your TV has to upscale the image to make it fit the screen, so its a case of letting the TV do it or the freeview box. Its a very common complaint on HD sets, they just dont do SD very well at all.

Try fiddling with the tv picture settings. Reducing the sharpness may help.

Make sure you use a decent enough cable and ensure the output is set to RGB not CVBS.
