I think this needs to be here rather than films & tv...

I saw the adverts over the summer for their updated Anytime service, basically trying to keep up with Virgin's On Demand. A flyer came through the door today telling me to log onto the website and activate it, which I duly did.

Only when I read the reall really really small print did I realise I would also need a wireless adaptor to plug into the Sky HD box, which Sky want to charge £60 for. Twunts.

Anyway, it seems what I need is a 'wireless bridge' with an ethernet cable output... Can anyone suggest or recommend one that will work, that doesn't cost the equivalent of a month's subscription?

The other option is to run an ethernet cable across the living room floor from my router to the Sky box. Twunts.

In fairness, how did you expect the content to be delivered if you don't hook the box up to the net?

Does it have to be wireless? Can you not run a length of cat5 from your decoder to your router? Have you considered homeplugs to extend your ethernet?

Agreed. I have set my Anytime+ up using these. They work very well and have excellent reviews.

Apple Airport Express as a wireless extender and then use the CAT5 Port to connect to the other sky device

they could well be

i have sort of the reverse scenario going on

my router and BT vision box are down stairs in the living room where the phone line comes in

my desktop computer is in the back bedroom connected by the plug adaptors and it seems to work fine

Do you HAVE to be on SKY broadband to use this ? they seem to say you do but I doubt it

Yes, although they will open it to other ISP users later on in the roll out.

I've also connected up via the homeplug route. Damn glad I didn't pay extra for it - the content library is limited to say the least. How long will it be before they start charging per download I wonder.
