I am the lookout for a new TV and looking to get the best deal I can. Ideally anything in size between 37"-42" but I'd take a 32" if it really was a good deal. So far I think these are the two best I have come across:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003ZUX1U8/ref=...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LG-42LF2500-42IN-FULL-HD-DIG...

Does anybody know where has the best deals at the moment or any recommendations for any particular TV. Don't really want to spend more the £400.

Thanks in advance,
Jamie

Have a look at Richersounds (Edinburgh closest but will deliver for £40 ish)

5 year waranty for 10% of the total

Look at the LG's (PK razor frame ones) for value for money.

or have a look on hot uk deals

Richer Sounds for the Panasonic 42X20 Plasma at £399.

If you will be sitting close enough to benefit from 1080p BR movies, then you'd be wise to stump up the extra £100 ish for the 42S20 on Amazon.

hehe I paid over £1000 for that TV not very long ago, and I shopped around for the best deal as well.

Still can't put a price on a few months of lovely HD goodness.. Oh wait, yes you can, £430! smile

Prices of the 42G20 are more volatile than the stock market! Amazon at £569 for a few days and now up to £639... Seems to be going up and down like a yo-yo. Very unusual to get that sort of fluctuation on a mass produced product.

I hope they settle down in the new year, as my old Toshiba 36" CRT has died. Not a good time just before Christmas, and I don't want to take credit out, so will have to put up with a 14" portable till then frown

Zero % card etc an option ? (a lot of viewing at this time of year - esp with the snow !)

No, I'm going to restrain myself, all to easy not to pay off and then end up paying interest forever and a day. I'm not going to be at home at Christmas anyway, so I'll wait I suppose the VAT will go up, but I'd rather pay in one lump when I've got the cash.

There are good deals to be had if you keep on eye out on these particular sets.

Bought 2 at £570/each a fortnight ago from a dealer and hence have the 5 year protection.

Only downside was that it was a 2 hour/70mile round trip to go and collect them BUT the pair of £40 leads he threw in made it worthwhile wink

We have an old CRT TV which must be all of 15 inches across the screen ... I'm looking forward to the day when it dies and I can put it in the bin and be without a telly altogether ... smile

And yet you're reading threads about TV deals? Odd.

Yes, odd indeed.

And - even more odd - I came back to see if anyone had replied to my post!

No doubt about it; I must simply be slightly unhinged!

I estimate that you are 20 yrs behind

so in 10 years you could pick up a new fangled 32" wide screen CRT & in 20 years go for a futuristic 50" flat screen biggrin
