Numptey 3D TV question!
Discussion
Hi all, I'm sorry for the thicko question, but I've just bought a 3D TV today (Samsung) and am trying to play My Bloody Valentine 3D Blu Ray with my PS3 (I've updated the software on it to play 3D)
But am I missing something.....There is a 3D option on the DVD Menu, which I choose, and the screen goes 3D'ish but the Samsung glasses make absolutely no difference at all (the Blu Ray is supposed to come with a set of 'Red & Green' glasses, but as it's an ex-rental, it doesn't).
So, my numptey brain isn't able to work this out, but could I have played this disc on a normal TV with these cheapo glasses? And is this Blu Ray a waste of time on my new TV? The thing that also makes me think it's not 'proper' 3D is that the TV has an option to 'simulate' 2D into 3D, and this option is available for this disc, which makes me think it's not a true 3D film.
Can anyone help???

'This 3D disc requires red-and-blue 3D glasses and will play on non-3D enabled electronics. You do not need a 3D TV or 3D Blu-ray player to view this disc.'
It seems that movie is on old school 'anaglyph' 3D which requires red/blue glasses rather than the modern shuttered 3d tv stuff you've bought!

Ahhhhhh, I'm starting to understand. So what do I need to look for on the Blu Rays to ensure it is the 'Shutter' type glasses compatable? It seems that movie is on old school 'anaglyph' 3D which requires red/blue glasses rather than the modern shuttered 3d tv stuff you've bought!

also don't forget to tell the ps/3 it's a 3d tv its talking too.
forgot to do this bit on GT5 initially.
It's buried somewhere in the settings .... (it's late and I can't remember)
When I downloaded the update for the PS3 it asked me about what size 3D TV I had, etc. Does this mean it now knows it's talking to a 3D TV? I also have GT5 but I didn't know this was in 3D! I've just been playing it on 2D so how do I get this onto 3D?forgot to do this bit on GT5 initially.

Bit of an update......I've been doing some digging and it turns out there are 2 types of 3D movies.
Firstly, there is Stereoscopic Anaglyph Blu Ray 3D which is the old glasses with the blue/green lenses. Then there are Active Shutter Blu Ray 3D Discs which are the ones I need for this new tv.
So basically the 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' Blu Ray Disc which I've just bought is a waste of time as it's for the Stereoscopic Anaglyph 3D glasses! AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH Why is life so complicated!
Is there a list anywhere of the full 3D Films, or is there a way of telling them apart from the packaging?
