Right, i'm on a mission to find a new setup for the living room. Looking to make it all a little more compact with an upgrade to Bluray too smile
Currently have under my telly a HTPC, Sky+ box, DVD player and a Technics HiFi stack with some large speakers. Would like to be left with just the new system and Sky box and some small 5.1 bookshelf speakers.
Seen some LG and Samsung systems today that looked good and advertised as being able to access the internet so that would also take care of the HTPC. But I would like to be able to stream music or videos from a network source, is that possible with any of them?

Budget around £400 but I could go a little over for the right system.

P.S. are all BluRay systems 3D ready?

Not had much chance to do any more research today, something the sales guy in Curry's said to me yesterday has confused me though. Aparently if I buy a 3D telly I have to have a cinema system from the same manufacturer for it to work properly?! As i'm not looking to upgrade the telly for possibly the next 12 months I dont know what to do if this is true! Is it? Cant see it myself!

It's bks.
As long as they both use hdmi 1.4 then you will be fine. In fact the ps3 can provide 3d over 1.3(x) so not even that is 100% true.

Yeah, looking around elsewhere the question had been asked before and was told it was bks. I pretty much worked it out myself as you say there are industry standards.
