freesat around the home
Discussion
Hi the flats where i live have just switched to freesat.
I wish to get freeview in the bedrooms.
How do i do this and what equipment would i need.
The estate management have provided 1 point in the lounge. At least they will when i can arrange a date for them to get the installation done.
I just want to know what i will need.
Can i use a video sender or will i need individual cabling for each room.
Thanks

To get freeview in the bedrooms you just need an active aerial point and a digital TV or a Digibox. If its freesat you want in the bedrooms then if you want to be able to have different channels in different rooms then you need a dish feed and a freesat box in each room. Or you you can get away with the same channel in all rooms then a Video sender or hardwired distribution system will do the job.

You could resend the picture on from the Freesat box in the main room, but this would mean that you are limited to watching what ever the box in there is watching.
The only way to get independent choice would be to have a second point in which ever room you want it.
Satellite feeds have to be unique and independent of each other.

Can you supply two tvs from one freesat dish ?
Yes, but the LNB on the dish has to have multiple outputs. Each box needs a seperate feed from the LNB.
