Mains problems

I have a problem with one of my active speakers and I believe it was caused by a mains problem. ( We had a series of power cuts in quick succession )
Would this be any use, or is it not man enough?

What overcurrent protection do you have on the house? Fuses? RCD? Are the plugs fused? There shouldn't be any need for secondary protection but if it helps you feel safer?

You'd think if it was down to mains surge there would be a lot more damaged electrical kit in the house than a single speaker.

We had a series of power cuts in quick succession and after them, I noticed the speaker wasn't working. I have been through many tests and in a reply from Meridian "On reading your discription, it looks like the input chip has taken a hit when you had a power cut."
As these things are expensive to ship back to be fixed, I wondered if there was something I could do to help.
The building is approx. 8 years old, so wiring / fuse board is relatively new
