cartridge help - sansui sr222 and ortofon 2m red?

Hi,
i have a sansui sr2222 turntable. late 70's.

SHould i be able to fit a new ortofon 2m red cartride to this?

Do most cartridges tend to fit most head shells, etc?

I've not tried that particular combination, but it should be fine. The only thing to watch for is that the 2M series of cartridges are particularly wide at the back and on some arms/headshells it's a tight squeeze, so I wouldn't order one blind (I would say this given my occupation, but best to go to a dealer and get them to fit it for you if you can - saves this risk and means it'll all be properly setup for you).
