I watched Predators on Blue-ray last night and throughout the viewing it kept displaying the chapters with thumbnails as the film reached each chapter. They progressed along a sliding scale (also shown)?

This scale and the chapter thumbnail kept coming up over the bottom of the main film and nothing I could do would stop it?

My Blue-ray player is a Toshiba standalone player (model number etc., not to hand) cost about £90 and instruction manual (booklet) is crap.

It hasn't happened in other movies but on the odd occasion has briefly come on once or twice in the odd film but then stopped appearing. Never has it come on an off throughout the film like it did yesterday.

Is this down to the multiple standards that Blue-ray disks must work across or a faulty disk?

Anyone else get this problem?

Had something similar.

If the disc has a set up option, have a hunt round the menus there. If not, it'll probably be a command issue - probably hit the wrong sequence of buttons on the remote (normally, like me, by sitting on it!). Unlikely to be a faulty disc.

I searched for a suitable menu on the disk but the only one that came close was to select chapters and make/delete bookmarks. The chapters menu didn't enable or disable them but simply allowed one to select where to start the film from.

I worked my way through virtually every button and function on the remote control in an effort to find something that worked but couldn't find anything. I can display the chapters selection time-line at the press of a button but couldn't stop them from popping up every few minutes for the duration of the film.mad

There's the problem I'd guess.

The manual or the "budget" price ranged product?

The budget I'd of thought, are they really available that cheap now?

Does the disc play ok on someone else's?
