Recommend me a receiver

As the title says…
I’ve got an Arcam AVR100 currently, running a pair of B&W 685 fronts, an HTM61 center, and a pair of smaller B&W rears. I’m unlikely to add anything other than a powered sub to this in the near future.
The only real issue I have with it is that the sound is slightly out of sync with the picture (PS3 outputting to the TV via HDMI and to the amp via optical, with some delay being added by the optical, I think), and I can’t find any way of sorting this out.
I’d also like to have the amp connected via HDMI with 3D passthrough; although I don’t really care about 3D, I’m about to get a 3D ready TV, so it would be nice to have the ability should I decide to fork out the extra 400 notes for the transmitter and a couple of pairs of glasses.
The only sources are PS3 for DVDs, Blu-ray, streaming VOBs from PC, Netflix, and a Comcast HD box for, well…adverts, mainly.
Ipod support and/or streaming would be a nice toy.
I’m currently eyeing up the Integra DTR-70.2(about $1k) and the Denon AVR-2311CI($600 ish). The integra is likely to be completely overkill for my purposes, but I like nice kit (who doesn’t?) and the extra capacity would allow more speakers to be added later. It's also at the top of what I'm prepapred to pay, and as I don't currently use the setup a great deal, not entirely justifiable
If you’ve read all of this, the Comcast and $ bits will have clued you in to the fact that I’m in America, so any alternative ideas that I might be able to get hold of here?
