Looks like I might need a new TV and I despise the 16x9 format.
Does anyone still make 4x3 new and will they be CRT or LCD/plasma?
I thought B+O made a new 4x3 but that could be a little while ago now.

Anyone come across any?

Isn't most stuff broadcast in 16:9 nowadays?

So even if you can get one you'd watch it with black bars top and bottom to get the right aspect ratio.

Haven't seen one new for years, most 16/9 TV's offer a 4/3 ratio option, you could always set it for that if that's what you like, but, as already said, nearly all Tv broadcasts are now 16/9 so you will get a very distorted picture.

Are you old?

Ha ha, feels like it sometimes but in the grand scheme of things probably not.

Wide screen is just something I have never understood - a vertically biased screen seems to make far more sense to me than a horizontal one. However the whole world seems to disagree so I'll just have to live with it.
Bought a new laptop recently and I still don't like it to work on. Everything is smaller and wider which is no advantage at all.

I thought I was being a bit hopeful but if you don't ask.

So best TV brands? Are B+O all their prices would suggest?

16:9 has come on a long way since the beginning. Now everything is broadcast in 16:9 you don't get that thing with people looking "fat".

You wont find a 4:3 plasma, smallest is 37" and 16:9

You might find a small (19") LCD.
