Am I right in thinking that either HDMI or Component video output will provide 1080p video?

Very few TV's accept 1080p over component AFIK.

And few Hidef sources will supply it either (due to no HDCP).

The reason I ask:

I've got an Onkyo TX-SR607 amp which has one HDMI output and one component output.

What I was thinking was I could use one of the outputs to feed my plasma, and t'other to feed a projector (which I don't yet have).

Otherwise I'm looking at either a new amp or an HDMI switch.

Commandant Scouse: it may well be.

I'm due a call with Der about some new additions. I've almost got everything else to the point where I can start fiddling, so I shall follow up with gusto.

If you're looking for a cheaper option than replacing your amp you could get a splitter like this?
Mine works fine - £30 on that site and cheaper on Ebay.
