Shocking Freeview reception on South Coast?
Discussion
Digital switchover for your area is 2012 so not everything is available now for some people.
Put your postcode in here, keep the in the trade checkbox ticked. This will give a clue to signal strength for the individual multiplexes, and switchover dates.
www.ukfree.tv can give more detail about current problems.

Where we used to live a few years ago, Freeview was listed as unavailable, yet on buying a new telly which just so happened to have a Freeview box in it, lo and behold a panoply of extra channels....
Out here where we now live, we apparently have lots of Freeview channels..... except we don't have even one. NO terrestrial reception whatsoever. The site is fine for generalised checking of postcodes, but should not be relied upon.

I absolutely know we have Freeview - been using it for years with perfect picture, switch over is 2012 as was mentioned and I know some channels are running reduced power currently, I was wondering if it's a wide spread problem or local.
Atmospheric conditions was my initial thought.
If they are doing upgrade work it will cause havoc. The Emley Moor transmitter was "upgraded" between April and June last year... except it took them until November and various Multiplex's were at such reduced power the picyure either broke up or the channels weren't there at all. I eventually "reworked" my aerial lead and most of the channels came back but the power was at least half of that previous to the "upgrade". Even now after the work has finished the power isn't what it was. At DSO however I may well need to put a Attenuator on our main aerial as even on current power I get 70% signal strength.Atmospheric conditions was my initial thought.
