Hi folks

As some of you may already be aware, a number of us ROs have been secretly planning away to offer what we hope will be a great social event to send off the year with a bang!

This will involve an interregional contest between...
- Herts & Beds
- Middlesex
- Cambs
- Mid-Essex

...the goal of the contest to prove which region has the maddest and baddest drivers (H&B!) evil

The competition will be an inter-regional go karting event around one of the premier outdoor
karting venues in the UK - Rye House, Hoddesdon ( http://www.rye-house.co.uk/).
Rye House has been chosen primarily because of its reasonably central location and what it offers.

We have two possible options we could do and would like some input from everyone as to
which option they might prefer and how many people would be interested in attending.

Both options work on a point system to decide the individual winners and regional winners
and will depend on how many people are interested in attending.

The dates for the event will be proposed once we have answers to the above questions.

Personally, I would recommend option 2, but this event is being planned on your behalf, so
the choice should be yours

So, please review the options below and let us know as soon as possible
- If you would be interested in attending the event?
- Which option you would prefer?

(Note - This is a TVRCC event only)

Many thanks!

The two options we are considering are as follows...

Option 1

The first option is a "Grand Pre" racing format which includes...
  • Kart hire (brand new karts)
  • 15mins warm up
  • 40mins on the track
  • Everyone on track at the sametime
  • Presentation at the end
This would be for about 25 people or less and cost £77 per person

Option 2

The second option is an endurance racing format which includes...
  • Kart hire (brand new karts)
  • Split group into a team of 2/3 people per kart
  • 15mins warm up/qualifier
  • Each person runs around in the kart until they get tired and hand over to next person in their team
  • Fewer people on the track. More scope for chat/social banter
  • 60mins on the track
  • Presentation at the end
This would be for more than 25 people and costs £51-50 per person. Actually, it is £103 per kart use, so if X people use the kart, the cost goes down by 103/X. I'm assuming 2 people per kart here. laugh

Sounds great Alex,

I am open to either option, makes no difference. I don't mind sharing the No.1 spot with a fellow TVR friend.

Problem is matey I have been getting fat since I gave up the fags! However I do have my full race kit with Go Fast Stripes, this should help us.

Hi Alex,

Yes please put my mane down, I would vote for option 2.

I guess you haven't fixed the date yet.

Cheers

Hi Chas, added!

Yes, we need to get at least 25-30 people to make it worth doing.

The dates will probably be arranged after we hit that number - hopely early next week once Zoe has
got people from Cambs.

Cheers!

Nearly up to 30 people now even without Cambs names so far, so once I have Zoe's input I'll put some dates on the table. Thanks!

Spoke with Zoe yesterday, expect some proposed dates in the next few days.

A rapid response from everyone to those dates would be appreciated.
