Spa Classic - travel information
Discussion
There are some extensive road works in Belgium which will delay you getting to/from Spa.
The information I have is that the worst affected sections are the E40 from Liege to the junction with the E42 and on the E42 between Verviers and Spa.
Full details are here (zoom in on right hand side of map for Liege, Verviers & Spa)... http://trafiroutes.wallonie.be/trafiroutes/maptemp...
If travelling from one of the channel ports my advice would be to go via Lille, Charleroi & Namur. This has the ended benefit of missing the Brussels ring road.
Cheers,
L'rs

Cheers, very useful, only 20 kms more too. Ian, I did email you a few weeks ago re track laps but no joy.
No joy as in all the lap passes were sold or do you mean you didn't get a reply...? Sincere apologies if the latter, I've checked and all emails I've received have been answered. If you want to send me another email with your contact details I will add you to the waiting list I've got in case of any last minute cancellations
Hi Ian,
I may be being dense, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious or easy way to get from your suggested route through Namur on to the circuit at Francorchamp - the usual route planners take you back up to Liege then Verviers where you say the worst affected sections to avoid are?
Thanks

For reference this is the normal direct route... http://goo.gl/maps/lj7ph
Avoiding the worst of the Liege > circuit roadworks, but still going round the Brussels ring road... http://goo.gl/maps/lnKnT
Avoiding the road works and Brussels ring road (Brussels might be ok but it's often bad on a Friday!)... http://goo.gl/maps/M2vp2
And if you've got the time and want to get off the motorways sooner rather than later, something like this... http://goo.gl/maps/HBHDL
Hope the above helps
