Anyone need something interesting to do this weekend?
Why not come to Santa Pod. Bring your TVR and driving licence and see if we can convince you in stretching your cars legs up the 1/4 mile. Get some real numbers on timing tickets to show off down the pub.

See here for further details and to add your name smile

And watch out for the NEW average speed camera's in Milton Earnest on the A6, heading from Bedford just off the dual carridgeway after the gatso camera.

For the 1/4 mile virgins it not that complicated.

Simply turn up with your driving licence, come say hi and then sign on.
Get into the fire up queue and watch for the marshals to guide you forward.
Watch what the other car does ahead of you.
No need for a fancy burnout, maybe just a little spin up to clean the rubber.
Roll up to the start line slowly (this is about 15 feet before the Christmas tree (starting lights).
You need to roll up enough to light both white staging lights at the top of the tree. Then move no more.
When both cars are staged the start line marshal will activate the tree. Three ambers then green.
No need to panic and cut a quick reaction time as it has no bearing on your ET. The time is taken from when you break the timing beam, not the green light.
Try not to floor it and wheelspin. Best to just drive off the line as if from the traffic lights then feed the power in. No need to go to the red line. Shift at a comfy point for your engine and let the torque do the work.
Keep your foot down through the finish line.
Then theres loads of room to slow and turn off to the left. If you are in the right lane give way to the guy in the left. Dont cut across his path.
Return to the queue for your next run.
Make excuses and have some banter while waiting and get someone to collect or tell you your time.
At the end of the day you get a printout of all your times and hopefully they should have tumbled as you found that sweet spot off the startline.
