TVRCC Trackday At Cadwell
Discussion
I will be there with my Chimaera, but only for the day as I only live an hour away.
Did a track evening at Cadwell last night, and by the end of the evening I was getting quite brave and was not being overtaken by anything, despits there being some quite serious machinery on track.
A couple of things - fuel IS available at the track, and is 1.60 a litre for super. Don't be silly, it's not worth hacking miles and wasting ages of your track day to save 10-15p a litre if you run short. Either bring spare cans, or just grin and bear it. After all, you will be spending over 100 quid on fuel getting there and back and on track, and 148 quid for the track day, so what's another fiver?
Finally, be aware of the 105 decibel noise limit. If you are over, you don't run. 105 is a loud Chimaera, but not that loud for a Cerbera or anything with a sleeved exhaust.
You can get track day silencers from ACT which will knock several decibels off. I used mine last night, but got the feeling that Cadwell's noise meter was wrongly calibrated and reading low for once, and I didn't really need the cans.
So, on the day, if any of you fail the noise test, come and find me (navy V reg Chimeara with the roof off and a roll cage) and we can try my cans on your car if you have 2.5 inch exhausts.

Is this the TRVCC event ? If so I`m not a member .
Is this the weekend thing for one price ?
MONDAY 9th September, just the one day. A crowd seem to be painting Louth (reflex Starmist) red the night before. Is this the weekend thing for one price ?
It is £54 to join and £148 for the track day. So compared with most track days, the membership fee is free.....if you see what I mean.
It's on Mon 9 th Sep as stated. Some people are making a TVR weekend of it by going to the TVR Challenge at Rockingham on Sat 7th Sep; and/or the Pre-8Ts TVR Extravanganza at Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre on Sun 8 th Sep. (And if your other half isn't into TVRs, you could consider taking her to Lincoln for the Saturday and/or Sunday night out.)
The price is £148 per car inclusive for TVRCC Members. Or £148.00 plus £5 TVRCC day membership for non-TVRCC Members. Book by phoning the TVRCC on 01952-822126. You can usually hire a helmet on the day at £10 from Cadwell for the day.
It's in three twenty minute sessions per hour, with one group specifically for novice drivers (with extra tuition included); so if you have not track dayed before, you won't be hassled by extremely fast drivers. There are only twenty two cars in each group, so you should be able to find a bit of empty track to play on. Plus there is free instruction for anybody who wants it; and the instructors race TVRs.
In addition to the 66 cars on track, the day typically attracts 30-40 other TVRs, who come down to watch or socialise. The roads around Cadwell are fun; and it's free to get into the circuit.

Does that mean I could be on the track up to twenty minutes in each hour . Sounds great . The price is £148 per car inclusive for TVRCC Members. I only have cheap tyres !
Then drive within their limits and enjoy your day on track. Cadwell is a great track, but be aware that many of the grass run offs are downhill and end in barriers. I have been off the track twice, both times at safe places, and both times on rubbish road tyres.Gassing Station | TVR Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
