Mid Essex Meet Sunday 14th June
Discussion
This Sunday is the second Sunday of the month which means another Mid Essex meet and another Mid Essex convoy from the White Hart.
Most will know the drill by now, but for those that don't we'll be meeting at the White Hart as usual from about 11:00 for the main convoy leaving at 11:30, and if you're joining the Southend pose pre meet, at the bays on Thorpe Bay front by the yacht park (between Maplin Way Thorpe Hall Avenue) and between for 10.15 to 10.30 leaving at 10.45 (or thereabouts).
How do I get to the White Hart..?
1) Take the A12 towards Colchester,
2) Turn off at J19 (Boreham) – keep in the left-hand lane,
3) Take the 2nd exit,
4) Follow the road, it turns to a 40mph,
The White Hart is on your left a few hundred yards further on.
If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far..!
Or just look up the address at http://www.multimap.com - White Hart, Colchester Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 5PG
Cheers,
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CONVOY WILL BE LEAVING THE WHITE HART EARLIER THAN USUAL.
Mid Essex do not usually leave the Forresters. Usually, because the Meet is supported from surrounding regions we remain static at the Golf Club.
However this month is different.
It's only fair that we still go to the Forresters to support re the carvery and for those that would like lunch. So lunch will be served at 12:15.
At 1:15 those who wish to join in will leave the Forresters and travel over to Boys Toys Day Out in Chelmsford.
Those who do not wish to join in are welcome to stay as normal at the Forresters so if you fancy a nice carvery meal please still do attend. It's just that some of the TVRs will be leaving quite early on and I don't want anyone to travel some distance and be disappointed at the perceived turnout!
Pete will already be at Boys Toys and will meet us at the gate and lead us in.
So, something a little different this month
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday...
Remember...dinner is early.

Louise said you are quite welcome to come round early for a fry up if you want.We thought it best, we don't want you losing weight too fast in case it upsets the tides and floods us.

Well....that was an interesting afternoon.
Thought I might have 15-20 TVRs following me to Chelmsford and the Boys Toys Meet.
Never thought I would be at the head of 34 TVRs all looking excellent in the summer sun.
Thank you all very much for your support, especially all who came and had lunch at the Forresters first as they are very good hosts every month.
We all kept together very well...good stuff.
Dave and Steph did their own thing as usual, arriving 15 minutes later than the rest of us but hey...that was better than the half hour at Chatsworth so I'm glad to see an improvement there!!
I will save the quote of the day for my Sprint report.....but twill make you laugh.
Thanks to Alex for taking over on the A12. Didn't really want to lead 34 TVRs a song and dance route on such a hot day so it was good to follow someone who actually knew where they were going!
Just in case anyone didn't hear why we where not parked in front of the house as planned......it was because there were helicopters taking off and landing right in front of the house and they spew up any amount of muck and crud and I didn't feel inclined to put our TVRs in the way of it.
But we had a great position and the TVRs were appreciated by the crowds so a nice afternoon.
I picked up some lovely goats cheese and Lincolnshire sausages so I was a happy bunny.
Pete...great job organising it all mate. Excellent to have the Hylands staff waiting at the gate to escort us all through the crowds.....
thanks Honey, much appreciated.
Thanks everyone.....

Well organised Pauline and Co. my passenger and I had a really enjoyable day.
Pauline, if you wondered why a big red VW flashed you in Chelmer Village just before the A12, that was me in the company oil burner on route to pick the girlfriend up from London.
A few pics, will upload the rest when I'm in the office tomorrow.

No probs Pauline.....Easy!!!!
I think I can speak onbehalf of all involved to say that it was a lovely day, venue etc, but the best bit was watching everyones face when the cavalry arrived at 2pm. It was a sight to behold.
Thanks to everyone for coming along and making the effort. Your RO & ex RO greatly appriciated it.
On a funny note, it was nice of the organisers to asked my permition for the Copper Chopper to land a second time, as they were very worried about our cars and the downdraft from the blades. Essex police requested a second landing, but were told only if TVR agree!!!! Love It!!!
